For making enough stew to feed my hungry flatmates

Shepherd Stew (Satarasch)

This was one of the best and simpliest meals i've made it took about 5 mins to get ready then 2 hours slow cooking while I went to the gym. I always make too much and end up freezing lots, but luckily my flatemates hadn't had dinner so I got to share, so much better when you can eat with mates.

Easy stew (no need to peel vegies!)

- Beef chopped into chunks and browned off
-one large brown onion
- one carrot chopped
- one Parsnip chopped
- 6 small potatoes

- chuck into large stew pot with..

- large tin of crushed tomatoes
- spoon of vegimite
- Half a carton of real beef stock
- mixed herbs
-garlic
-large squeeze of tomato paste
- large squeeze of tomato ketchup
- 2 bay leaves

cook for 2 hours on low heat
